Around 6 years ago, I was brought back down the crypto rabbit hole after discovering projects that had practical use cases beyond just payments and verifying transactions.

These projects brought massive value beyond just the Web3 ethos of decentralization and empowering users with ownership over their digital footprint. Akash Network, for example, allowed users to deploy container workloads for as low as 20% of the cost of traditional cloud giants like AWS. However, it was still in its infancy stages. Features were missing and it was not quite ready for prime time.

Fast forward to 2024, with many iterations of these platforms along with the addition of supplying GPUs to the rise of AI and its myriad of applications, many of them matured into products that were ready to become viable, cost-effective enterprise solutions. Yet, I felt that the UX was just not quite there. Not to mention, a lot of companies were and are still reluctant to account for cryptocurrencies in their books.

Having spent most of my career helping companies and organizations of all sizes adopt new infrastructure technologies, I felt that this was an opportunity; an opportunity for a new chapter of my career. So in 2024, after a few months of back and forth with my now co-founders, we started dKloud, a Decentralized Cloud Infrastructure aggregation and tooling platform.

Our vision is to make Decentralized Cloud Infrastructure (DCI / DePIN) accessible to enterprises of all sizes. Aside from building tooling and templates for developers to ease adoption, we believe that it would only be possible to fulfill this vision if we worked with a strong community to create and curate tools and templates together.

As such, we recently kicked off our first community building exercise to onboard and engage talented engineers around the world to join our community! We are planning a series of “Missions” with accompanying rewards as a small token of our appreciation to those who contribute most to our collective vision.

So if you are developer or a DevOps engineer, come join us in building the biggest Decentralized Cloud Community in the world!
