A Fanboy’s Letter to Apple
Dear Apple,
I have been mostly a die hard Debian/Ubuntu desktop user since the late 90's until you swept my feet away with your Darwin based operating system called OS X in the mid 2000's. Ever since then, I was a loyal fan of yours. Not only were you able to do mostly what I needed from Linux to fulfill my technical demands, you also ran Microsoft and Adobe software that was rather essential to my professional life. I was even able to play a fare share of World of Warcraft which helped me bond with many of my friends and co-workers. Perhaps what’s even more attractive about you is that your hardware was an artistic masterpiece that functionally proved itself to be superior to the rest. Remember when I walked into my first RDS meeting at Microsoft and told a room full of principal and senior engineers that you were the fastest machine out in the market for Windows?
Needless to say, you can probably guess that I have been disappointed with your recent products as partly because you have obviously focused more and more on the mobile side of your business instead. I am also sure that Steve Jobs having left us might have something to do with it too but I would like to somehow believe that Steve was a level 5 leader rather than a 4 which I hope that you will prove me right in the late summer hardware event.
